GI Los Chacayes gathers a unique combination of soil, climate and altitude, which allow us to make exceptional quality wines with natural freshness, great aromatic expression, intense colors and marked acidity.
Our vineyards were planted in a unique place, under extreme conditions. Deep rocky soils from alluvial origin and 1280 meters of altitude above the sea level. A family winery
Matilde Pereda and Agustín Casabal arrived in Agrelo, Mendoza in the year 2000, sharing their passion for discovering and enjoying good wines. They first planted their vineyard on an 18-hectare farm and they built their winery two years later. At the same time that they started on this wine adventure, it was also the beginning of their family life. They recycled a very old house, over a hundred years old, and they raised their four children there. They lived for fourteen years looking at their vineyards, next to their winery and facing the Andes, in permanent contact with the earth, its fruits and its natural cycles. Monte Quieto is a family winery.
Terroirs
Monte Quieto wines are entirely produced from grapes grown in their own vineyards, jealously protected, hand harvested and always with the highest quality and selection standards. The winery owns 3 vineyards in the regions of Agrelo, Ugarteche and Vista Flores, province of Mendoza. Respect for the traditions of natural viticulture allows Monte Quieto to obtain pure wines, maintaining and ensuring ideal expressions of their “terroirs”.
Pioneers
Monte Quieto was a pioneer in its beginnings and crossed the limits by planting Cabernet Franc, a rare variety in Argentine wineries at that time. In
Mendoza, Cabernet Franc reaches a very special maturity and produces outstanding and elegant wines. Agustín and Matilde decided to plant it because they knew it from the Bordeaux region of France and through its inspiring wines.
Natural winemaking
Monte Quieto considers that blended wines offer a deep and interesting complexity, which is why it produces wines that are the result of a combination of varieties or the combination of the same variety, from different areas. In this way, their wines provide different and more complex characteristics. Their quest is to respect the terroir of its vineyards, using winemaking processes that are as natural as possible.
Unique wines
Matilde and Agustín are very involved with their Monte Quieto team at all stages. They work so that their wines have their own touch, in order to make them unique.

In 1915, 10 years after sailing from Italy, Enrico Tittarelli founded one of the most important wineries in Argentina, TITTARELLI WINES.

The winery was recycled under high-quality standards, respecting the historic heritage. Our talented enologists and wine experts continue to show that it takes much more than counting on the best raw materials to obtain a well-balanced wine. In this respect, nature, tradition, and technology live together in harmony at Tittarelli.
